Internship Description and Responsibilities
As a Human Resource Assistant Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of experienced HR Officers within UNON’s HRMS. You will support various units depending on operational needs and your individual strengths. The internship is designed to be educational, hands-on, and impactful.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Recruitment and Placement Support
- Assist in posting job openings on UN platforms.
- Review incoming applications for completeness and eligibility.
- Prepare long lists and shortlists of candidates for specific positions.
- Support coordination of interviews and assessments including communication with candidates and panel members.
- Organize documentation for recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with UN procedures.
2. Human Resources Administration
- Support the onboarding and separation processes for staff and interns.
- Maintain personnel files and records in both hard and electronic formats.
- Assist in compiling HR data and generating reports for decision-making.
- Support the administration of entitlements and benefits, including contracts and extensions.
- Respond to routine HR-related queries from staff, providing accurate and timely information.
3. Learning and Development
- Assist in organizing training workshops, seminars, and online learning sessions.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for training delivery including venue setup, registration, and feedback collection.
- Support evaluation of training effectiveness and learning impact surveys.
4. Staff Welfare and Engagement
- Assist in initiatives that promote staff well-being and organizational culture.
- Help with communication campaigns and dissemination of HR information.
- Draft communication material such as announcements, newsletters, and HR updates.
5. Research and Knowledge Management
- Conduct research on HR best practices and trends relevant to the UN context.
- Support the updating of HR guidelines, SOPs, and templates.
- Maintain databases and HR knowledge repositories.
6. General Office Support
- Prepare minutes and summaries of meetings when required.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments and HR-related events.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor or team.

Eligibility and Conditions
- The internship is unpaid and full-time.
