Biovision Africa Trust Hiring Content Management Officer

by Recal

Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) is inviting applications from qualified and motivated individuals to fill the position of Content Management Officer. The organization seeks a professional who will play a central role in coordinating digital content development, management, and dissemination under its Agroecology Promotion Programme in Africa and the Porticus Project. This role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

The successful candidate will oversee the development of consumer-oriented digital platforms and a policy knowledge hub that aim to strengthen awareness, engagement, and policy dialogue around organic and agroecology practices. The position is designed for a self-driven and creative professional with the ability to manage structured knowledge products, coordinate multiple partners, and deliver communication outputs that advance the organization’s mission of empowering smallholder farmers across Africa.

Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) was established in Kenya in 2009 and operates as a not-for-profit organization situated on the main campus of the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in Kasarani, Nairobi. Since its inception, the Trust has implemented multiple programmes aimed at alleviating poverty, improving farmer livelihoods, and enhancing environmental sustainability. Through information dissemination, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building initiatives, BvAT supports smallholder farmers to adopt technologies that improve human, animal, plant, and environmental health.

Some of the flagship initiatives of BvAT include the Farmer Communication Programme in East Africa, the African Union Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) Initiative in nine African countries, and the Knowledge Hub for Eastern Africa (KHEA) in partnership with PELUM Uganda under the global Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture in Africa (KCOA).

The Content Management Officer position has been created to provide leadership in designing and maintaining two critical digital platforms: a consumer website promoting agroecology and organic products, and a digital knowledge hub that supports county governments, policymakers, learners, and other stakeholders in making informed decisions.

Job Purpose

The Content Management Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of content creation, curation, and publishing across the Agroecology Consumer Website and the Knowledge Hub. The role will ensure that both platforms remain engaging, evidence-based, and user-friendly. The officer will also support project coordination, reporting, and liaison with implementing partners, thereby playing a key role in ensuring that BvAT achieves its goals under the Agroecology Promotion Programme in Africa and related projects.

This position reports to the Head of Programmes (EOA and KCOA) and does not directly supervise any staff. However, the officer will regularly collaborate with internal colleagues, external partners, consultants, and service providers.
