Bondo Technical Training Institute is a public TVET institution established under the TVET Act No. 29, operating under the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training in the Ministry of Education. The institute is inviting applications from qualified individuals to fill the following positions.

The available vacancies cover diverse fields of training and technical support, providing opportunities for professionals who wish to contribute to the academic and skills development of learners in Kenya. Each role has its own responsibilities, and candidates are expected to demonstrate commitment, expertise, and the ability to deliver training or services that align with the mandate of the institution.


Water Engineering Trainer – 1 Post

The Water Engineering Trainer will be responsible for preparing and delivering training sessions to students in the area of water engineering. Duties will include planning lessons, developing curriculum content, and ensuring that training is aligned with industry standards. The trainer will also conduct practical sessions, supervise laboratory and fieldwork activities, and provide academic support to learners. Additionally, the trainer will be expected to evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and examinations. Guidance and mentorship of trainees to acquire both technical and problem-solving skills in the water sector will be part of the role.


Civil Engineering Trainer – 1 Post

The Civil Engineering Trainer will oversee instruction in civil engineering courses. This position will involve developing training materials, delivering lectures, and coordinating practical sessions in civil engineering workshops or labs. The trainer will supervise projects, guide students in applying engineering concepts, and conduct assessments to measure progress. Responsibilities will also include monitoring training outcomes to ensure that learners are equipped with the competencies required in the construction and infrastructure development sectors. Supporting students in research, fieldwork, and professional growth is also an integral part of this role.


Land Survey Trainer – 1 Post

The Land Survey Trainer will be engaged in training students in land surveying. The role involves teaching theoretical concepts, preparing training modules, and conducting fieldwork demonstrations. Duties include supervising practical surveying exercises, ensuring learners gain hands-on experience with survey instruments and techniques, and providing mentorship throughout the learning process. The trainer will assess performance, provide feedback, and ensure that students develop accuracy and technical competence in surveying tasks. Coordination with the department to maintain updated equipment and resources will also be part of the role.


Automotive Engineering Trainer – 2 Posts

The Automotive Engineering Trainers will provide instruction in automotive engineering courses, guiding learners through both theoretical and practical components. The trainers will prepare course materials, organize practical workshops, and supervise training in areas such as vehicle systems, maintenance, and repair. Duties will include monitoring the progress of trainees, carrying out assessments, and offering technical advice to improve performance. Trainers will ensure that workshops are well maintained and that safety standards are observed. They will also contribute to the preparation of graduates who are competent in the automotive industry.


Agriculture Trainer – 1 Post

The Agriculture Trainer will deliver training in agricultural studies. Responsibilities include preparing teaching materials, delivering classroom sessions, and guiding students through farm-based practicals. The trainer will oversee crop and animal production projects, ensuring that students acquire practical farming skills alongside theoretical knowledge. Duties will also include organizing field trips, supervising agricultural demonstrations, and assisting students in agricultural research and innovation. The trainer will play a key role in equipping students with skills relevant to modern agricultural practices.


Fisheries and Aquaculture Trainer – 1 Post

The Fisheries and Aquaculture Trainer will provide training to learners in the field of fisheries and aquaculture. Responsibilities include designing training modules, delivering both theory and practical lessons, and guiding learners through fish farming and aquaculture activities. The trainer will supervise hands-on sessions, ensuring that students gain technical knowledge in hatchery management, fish feeding, and harvesting practices. Duties also involve preparing students for fieldwork, conducting evaluations, and mentoring learners in adopting sustainable aquaculture practices that align with industry trends.


Food and Beverage Trainer – 1 Post

The Food and Beverage Trainer will deliver training in food production and beverage service. This position entails preparing lesson plans, delivering lectures, and guiding practical sessions in kitchens and service areas. The trainer will supervise learners in food preparation, menu planning, and service techniques. Responsibilities also include evaluating students’ performance, maintaining training facilities, and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards. The role requires mentoring students to develop skills applicable in the hospitality industry, with emphasis on quality service and professionalism.


Laboratory Technician (Applied Sciences) – 1 Post

The Laboratory Technician will provide technical support within the applied sciences laboratories. Duties include preparing laboratories for practical sessions, maintaining and calibrating scientific equipment, and ensuring the safe handling of materials. The technician will support trainers during practical sessions, assist students in experiments, and maintain records of laboratory activities. Responsibilities also include enforcing safety protocols, ensuring laboratories are well-stocked with necessary supplies, and troubleshooting technical issues. The technician will contribute to smooth operations in laboratory-based learning.
