Job Summary
The County Public Service Board is seeking competent and qualified nurses who will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care, promoting health services, and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve the well-being of patients and the community at large.
This role requires individuals who are patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of professionalism in line with the county’s healthcare vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Kenya Registered Nurse III, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Patient Assessment and Care Planning
Conducting thorough patient assessments, identifying health needs, and developing individualized care plans that address both immediate and long-term health goals. - Implementation of Nursing Interventions
Administering appropriate treatment and nursing interventions, closely monitoring patients’ responses, and adjusting care plans as necessary. - Health Services Delivery
Providing essential healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization programs, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), antenatal care, and safe delivery services. - Health Education and Counselling
Engaging with patients, clients, and communities through tailored health education sessions and counselling, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyles. - Patient Admission and Discharge
Facilitating seamless patient admissions, providing detailed information to patients and their families, and coordinating effective discharge plans that ensure continuity of care after leaving the hospital. - Record Keeping and Reporting
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records, preparing reports as required, and ensuring compliance with medical standards and county health policies. - Commitment to Patient Care
Demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and dedication in all aspects of nursing practice, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and experiences. - Other Related Duties
Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time within the County Health Department to support efficient healthcare delivery.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Diploma in any of the following areas: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
- A Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
