About the Role
The Sales Manager role is central to driving Tetra Pak’s growth in the East African market. The sales team serves as the engine powering our customer reach and influence. As a Sales Manager, you will not only focus on achieving financial targets but also on cultivating long-term partnerships that align with customers’ business strategies and needs.
This position requires a balance of commercial acumen, customer engagement, and strategic foresight. From lead generation to deal closure, you will oversee the entire sales process, ensuring that both Tetra Pak and our valued customers achieve mutual growth.
Key Responsibilities
As the Sales Manager, you will:
1. Deliver Financial Targets
- Achieve financial goals across three business lines for your assigned customers and teams.
- Monitor and drive actions to maintain profitable accounts and sales areas, with a focus on portfolio optimization, commercial competitiveness, and effective project management.
2. Build and Strengthen Customer Relationships
- Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s environment, strategy, operations, and long-term ambitions.
- Foster and maintain relationships at all levels within the customer’s organization.
- Create and execute account plans with measurable objectives and timelines, ensuring business opportunities are nurtured and won.
- Act as the customer’s voice within Tetra Pak by identifying gaps across touchpoints and leading improvement initiatives.
3. Accelerate the Sales Funnel
- Drive opportunities by mobilizing resources that align with customer needs and purchase processes.
- Generate leads through both external channels (e.g., discussions, campaigns, tenders) and internal initiatives (e.g., market expansion, contract renewals, and installed base management).
- Qualify and nurture leads to shorten sales cycles and increase success rates.
- Use effective questioning techniques to capture customer requirements and design value-driven solutions.
4. Plan and Forecast Effectively
- Carry out monthly forecasts across three business lines to secure timely material, production, and financial planning.
5. Ensure Commercial Compliance
- Follow Tetra Pak’s commercial practices, regulatory requirements, and code of conduct in all business engagements.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who brings both proven sales expertise and a customer-first mindset.

- Relevant Experience: 3–4 years in customer management or sales, ideally within the B2B environment.
