Person Specifications

For appointment to this role, an officer must have:

  • At least six (6) years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Registration and Compliance Officer I or in a comparable position.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Medicine, Social Sciences, Pharmacy, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Membership in the relevant professional body (where applicable) and in good standing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging in public education campaigns to create awareness about SHA programs and registration processes.

2. Compliance and Monitoring

  • Monitoring SHA’s operational activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conducting compliance audits on providers and beneficiaries to identify and correct irregularities.
  • Implementing performance-based contracting methodologies and monitoring contract performance to ensure efficiency.
  • Preparing and submitting monitoring and evaluation reports for review by senior management.

3. Claims Management and Audits

  • Implementing clinical audit policies and strategies to ensure accuracy in claims management.
  • Conducting health needs assessments and risk assessments to inform claims processing and service delivery.
  • Participating in the evaluation of clinical interventions and technologies for their suitability and sustainability.
  • Supporting the inclusion of approved drugs and consumables in the SHA positive list.

  • Engaging with stakeholders and partners to enhance membership registration efforts and claims processing efficiency.
