About the Role

The Finacle Support Manager will be based at the Head Office, reporting directly to the Business Systems Support Manager. The position requires a strong mix of technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and stakeholder management skills. As the custodian of the Finacle CBS across the bank’s branches and headquarters, you will be expected to implement, configure, support, and maintain the system to ensure continuous availability and peak performance.

The role is dynamic and multifaceted. It encompasses technical responsibilities such as system testing, patch management, and troubleshooting, as well as business-focused activities like stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and supporting fraud investigations. By blending these areas, the Finacle Support Manager becomes a vital link between technology and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Finacle Support Manager will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities to ensure the optimal use of the Core Banking System. These include but are not limited to:

  1. System Configuration and Customization
    • Configure the Finacle system according to business and user requirements.
    • Implement tariff changes and other updates in line with business needs.
    • Ensure that system customizations remain aligned with regulatory and business policies.
  2. System Testing and Quality Assurance
    • Develop and execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
    • Create and manage test environments to validate features before deployment.
    • Guarantee that every release, patch, or upgrade meets quality standards prior to going live.
  3. System Support and Issue Resolution
    • Provide timely solutions to system-related queries to minimize downtime.
    • Maintain an updated log of issues and track resolutions effectively.
    • Coordinate closely with vendors and ICT teams for advanced troubleshooting.
  4. Performance Management and System Maintenance
    • Support system tuning for optimal performance across branches and headquarters.
    • Conduct regular patching, upgrades, and version control to maintain security and stability.
    • Oversee backup and recovery processes to safeguard system data and integrity.
  5. Business Continuity and Security
    • Support fraud investigation teams with system insights and analysis.
    • Implement procedures that guarantee business continuity in case of disruptions.
    • Monitor compliance with security standards and ensure timely application of updates.
  6. Leadership and Mentorship
    • Guide, train, and mentor team members to strengthen internal expertise.
    • Foster collaboration across different teams and encourage knowledge sharing.
    • Provide leadership on projects to ensure timely completion and quality results.
  7. Vendor and Stakeholder Management
    • Manage relationships with vendors to secure reliable support and service delivery.
    • Work with stakeholders across departments to align system configurations with operational requirements.
    • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of vendor-managed issues.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

To excel in this position, the successful jobholder must demonstrate a strong mix of academic knowledge, technical expertise, and personal attributes. The following are the minimum qualifications and skills required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience supporting and using Banking Applications.
  • Proven experience with Finacle CBS version 10x/11x modules.
  • Formal Finacle 10x/11x functional and technical training.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix Operating Systems (AIX, RHEL, Solaris).
  • Proficiency with Java Application Servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss).
  • Advanced skills in SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
  • Experience in Oracle RDBMS Administration.
  • Understanding of Networking and Data Communications.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL Certification and demonstrated Project Management skills.
  • Expertise in business requirements documentation and application of design thinking methodologies.
  • Strong business relationship and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
