Position: Kitchen – Pastry Trainee

Reporting Line

The Kitchen – Pastry Trainee will report directly to the Training Manager and work under the close supervision of the Departmental Trainer. This structured reporting system ensures that every trainee receives the support, guidance, and mentorship required to excel in their role.

Role Overview

The trainee will undergo intensive training to learn and familiarize themselves with various pastry-related activities and operations within the kitchen department. They will also gain exposure to broader hospitality operations, equipping them with well-rounded skills.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Kitchen – Pastry Trainee program, the selected candidate will:

  • Uphold company standards in all food preparation and presentation activities.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to the hotel’s established menu and culinary standards.

  • Understand and follow property safety protocols, including first aid, fire, and emergency procedures, while operating equipment safely.
  • Assemble and prepare ingredients for menu items as instructed by supervisors and chefs.
  • Assist in receiving and storing goods while ensuring proper labeling, stock rotation, and quality checks.
  • Maintain and organize storage areas, ensuring that ingredients are kept in optimal conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across the Food & Beverage Department to support smooth operations and teamwork.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • A Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized institution.
  • No prior work experience required—this role is tailored for fresh graduates.
