IOM Hiring Senior Information Management Associate (Better Migration Management Project)

by Recal

Migration is one of the defining issues of our time. Across Africa, millions of people are on the move in search of safety, opportunity, and dignity. The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency, is at the forefront of providing solutions that make migration safe, orderly, and humane. With 174 Member States and a presence in over 400 field locations worldwide, IOM has been working since 1951 to assist governments, civil society, and migrants themselves in managing mobility in ways that benefit both people and societies.

The Regional Office for the East, Horn, and Southern Africa, based in Nairobi, Kenya, plays a pivotal role in supporting IOM activities across more than 20 countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, and beyond. The office provides technical expertise, policy guidance, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and coordination with governments, UN agencies, and international partners.

One of IOM’s key regional programmes is the Better Migration Management (BMM) programme. Co-funded by the European Union Trust Fund for Africa and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and coordinated by GIZ, BMM is a multi-year, multi-partner initiative that seeks to improve migration governance and specifically address Trafficking in Persons (TiP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SoM) across the East and Horn of Africa (EHoA). Implemented in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and South Sudan, the programme strengthens migration governance, promotes cross-border cooperation, enhances protection and assistance for victims of trafficking, and ensures gender-sensitive and child-focused interventions.

To advance this important mission, IOM is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the position of:
