Vice Provost, Teaching & Learning – Network of Quality, Teaching and Learning
Role Overview
The Vice Provost, Teaching & Learning will serve as a key academic leader within the Network of Quality, Teaching and Learning (QTL_net), driving institutional excellence in pedagogy, curriculum design, faculty development, and student learning experiences. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping AKU’s reputation as a global leader in innovative teaching and learning practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Academic Leadership: Provide leadership and vision to enhance teaching and learning across AKU’s diverse faculties and campuses, ensuring academic rigor and innovation.
- Curriculum Development: Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of curricula to meet global standards, respond to societal needs, and prepare graduates for leadership and impact.
- Faculty Development: Lead programs to strengthen faculty teaching skills, including mentorship, training, and opportunities for scholarly engagement in teaching and learning research.
- Learning Innovation: Champion the integration of technology-enhanced learning, experiential education, and other cutting-edge pedagogical methods.
- Student Success: Ensure the development of student-centered learning environments that promote academic success, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain systems for measuring, evaluating, and enhancing teaching and learning quality across the University.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with deans, faculty, and institutional leaders to align teaching and learning initiatives with the University’s broader strategic goals.
- Global Engagement: Position AKU as a thought leader in teaching and learning through engagement in global networks, conferences, and scholarly publications.
