RISK AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST 1 (BUSINESS ANALYST 1) – INTERNAL AUDIT & RISK DEPARTMENT

Job Purpose
The role holder will support in executing risk, compliance, and business continuity assignments to achieve the mandate of the division in ensuring risks in the bank are identified, assessed, managed and monitored and the internal control environment is optimized in the areas of risk, compliance and business continuity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct the day-to-day operations of the risk and compliance activities consulting with risk and compliance units across the Bank and Business continuity management (BCM) section within Risk division.
2. Assist to roll-out risk and BCM awareness initiatives in the Bank.
3. Assist to conduct risk reviews, evaluations and assessments using the various risk tools.
4. Assist in departmental business impact analysis exercises and review of the BCPs across the bank to enable the BCM program.
5. Obtain and consolidate the various risk and compliance and business continuity reports from the various departments/units to ensure proper documentation.
6. Conduct analysis to enable comprehensive reports for various stakeholders.
7. Assist to monitor and coordinate compliance activities of departments/units.
8. Assist to implement bank-wide risk and compliance and BCM programs and initiatives.
9. Assist in or conduct scenario and activity testing of the BCP, using alternative work areas as well as Emergency Response Drills.
10. Assist with administrative aspects of the risk and compliance unit, contributing as appropriate to the performance of other functions and to the overall achievement of CBK’s strategic objectives
11. Adhere to Bank policies, regulations and related legislations among other guidelines and principles.
12. Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
1a) A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field of study.
b) Professional certification in risk management and accounting is an added advantage.
Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the banking/financial industry; Experience in Risk, Compliance, Audit is an added advantage.
