Director, Clinical Services

The Director of Clinical Services will provide strategic and operational leadership in the planning, coordination, and delivery of all clinical services across the hospital. This position is key to ensuring that KUTRRH maintains the highest standards of medical care and patient safety, aligned with the hospital’s strategic goals and health service delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight in the formulation and implementation of clinical service policies, protocols, and standards across all hospital departments.
- Coordinate the delivery of quality healthcare services, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines, ethical standards, and national health regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of heads of clinical departments including medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and specialized units.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, reduce clinical errors, and enhance operational efficiency in service delivery.
- Oversee the hospital’s medical staff recruitment, credentialing, and performance management processes.
- Drive the adoption of innovative clinical practices and evidence-based treatment protocols to enhance patient care.
- Foster multidisciplinary collaboration among clinical teams to ensure seamless patient management and integrated care.
- Manage the hospital’s bed capacity, referral systems, and clinical service utilization to ensure optimal resource use.
- Oversee the implementation of infection prevention and control measures within the hospital.
- Coordinate continuing medical education (CME) and clinical training programs for medical and nursing staff.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of clinical departments against set targets, ensuring timely interventions for improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to hospital management on clinical matters and health system strengthening.
- Support research and innovation initiatives in clinical care, including participation in studies, trials, and new technology adoption.
- Promote a patient-centered culture, ensuring compassionate and professional care delivery throughout all clinical interactions.
- Represent the hospital in professional, governmental, and academic forums related to clinical care and medical standards.
The Director, Clinical Services, will play a vital role in positioning KUTRRH as a leader in specialized healthcare delivery, ensuring excellence in medical outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement among clinical staff.
