Job Overview
The Senior Officer, Retail/SME Dealer, will play a critical role in managing and growing the organization’s Retail and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) credit portfolio. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding business relationships with existing and potential SME clients while ensuring the credit process is managed effectively from origination to recovery. The incumbent will work closely with other departments to ensure products and services meet client needs and align with the institution’s credit risk management policies.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Portfolio Management
- Manage the Retail and SME credit portfolio, ensuring proper monitoring of client performance and adherence to approved terms and conditions.
- Conduct detailed credit analysis and prepare credit proposals for both new and existing clients in line with internal lending policies.
- Oversee the review and renewal of credit facilities to ensure portfolio quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential problem accounts early and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by offering tailored financial solutions that meet their business needs.
- Provide professional advice to clients on loan structures, credit products, and other financial services offered by the institution.
- Ensure timely response to client queries, complaints, and service requests while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.
- Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, networking events, and market research initiatives to identify new business opportunities.
Credit Risk and Compliance
- Ensure all credit applications meet internal and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Work closely with the Risk and Legal departments to ensure that all credit documentation is accurate, complete, and legally enforceable.
- Monitor the overall health of the credit portfolio by analyzing financial reports, client performance, and market trends.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on portfolio performance, credit quality, and business development initiatives.
Product Development and Market Analysis
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to enhance and tailor financial solutions to meet SME and retail clients’ evolving needs.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging risks within the SME sector.
- Recommend new lending products or improvements to existing ones to remain competitive in the market.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Liaise with the Operations, Risk, and Finance departments to ensure smooth loan processing and timely disbursement of approved facilities.
- Support the collection and recovery teams in ensuring prompt repayment of loans and effective management of non-performing accounts.
- Participate in departmental and cross-departmental meetings to contribute to institutional strategy and operational improvements.
