Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

Job Reference: DICT/VERT 3/2025
Terms of Service: Five (5) year contract, renewable once based on performance

Job Purpose
The Director, ICT will provide strategic and technical leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital’s ICT infrastructure and digital systems. This role will be pivotal in driving digital transformation, ensuring data security, and leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement ICT strategies, policies, and standards aligned with the hospital’s overall objectives.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of robust ICT systems that support hospital operations, research, and training.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of electronic medical records (EMR), hospital management systems, and data analytics platforms.
  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of all hospital data and digital assets through sound cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Plan and manage ICT budgets, resources, and projects to ensure optimal utilization and timely delivery.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to ICT staff to ensure efficient service delivery and continuous skill enhancement.
  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies that improve healthcare delivery, efficiency, and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure high-quality technology products and support services.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align ICT initiatives with clinical and administrative priorities.
  • Establish business continuity and disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks associated with ICT system failures or breaches.
  • Promote digital literacy and capacity building across all departments to enhance ICT adoption and efficiency.
  • Monitor ICT system performance and recommend improvements for optimal functionality and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT regulatory requirements, data protection laws, and institutional governance frameworks.

Terms of Service

All the positions are offered on a five (5) year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance and institutional requirements.
