Background
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. The Center is Africa-based and African-led, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and a West Africa Regional Office (WARO), in Dakar, Senegal. APHRC seeks to drive change by developing strong African research leadership and promoting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across sub-Saharan Africa.
APHRC’s Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) supports capacity-strengthening initiatives at the Center, offering resources and opportunities for training across the continent. APHRC seeks to engage a consultant to translate and digitize a suite of eight self-paced courses to Portuguese. This translation ensures that professionals and institutions in Portuguese-speaking countries can access high-quality training and fully benefit from APHRC’s research capacity-strengthening resources. The digitization will incorporate all the new custom features developed including the use of generative AI tools in course content production, integration with digital payment and intuitive multimedia components (audio, videos and animations). The consultancy will be conducted between January and February 2026.
