Baseline Enumerators
Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to collect accurate, reliable, and high-quality baseline data from targeted communities. The data collected will establish benchmarks against which project progress, performance, and outcomes will be measured over time.
Key Responsibilities
Baseline Enumerators engaged under this assignment will be responsible for the following:
- Data Collection
- Conduct household surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs) using standardized and approved tools.
- Data Quality and Accuracy
- Ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of all data collected.
- Verify responses prior to submission.
- Digital Data Capture
- Collect, record, and upload data on a daily basis using approved mobile data collection platforms such as KoboCollect, ODK, or SurveyCTO.
- Ethical Conduct
- Obtain informed consent from all respondents.
- Ensure confidentiality of information collected.
- Adhere to ethical research standards, safeguarding policies, and data protection requirements.
- Daily Reporting
- Participate in daily debriefing sessions with supervisors.
- Share progress updates, field observations, and challenges encountered during data collection.
Supervision and Support
The assignment will be supervised by:
- DAYO’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
- The Project Coordinator
Enumerators will receive:
- Structured orientation and training prior to deployment
- Data collection tools and guidelines necessary for effective fieldwork
- Ongoing technical and supervisory support throughout the assignment

Data Collectors / Enumerators
Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to engage qualified Enumerators/Data Collectors to support the
collection of reliable, gender-responsive, and inclusion-sensitive baseline data that meets donor
expectations for accuracy, ethics, and accountability.
- Scope of Work
Enumerators will undertake the following responsibilities:
3.1 Data Collection
- Administer structured household/farmer questionnaires using approved digital tools
(KoboToolbox/ODK). - Support Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with cassava
producers, traders, processors, youth groups, relevant county stakeholders, and other actors in the
value chain. - Capture GPS coordinates, photos (where consented), and observational notes as required by the
tools.
