23 Vacancies Open At The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) is the National Medicines Regulatory Authority of Kenya, established under Section 3 of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, Cap 244 of the Laws of Kenya. The Board is mandated to protect and promote public health by regulating the pharmacy profession and ensuring access to quality, safe, and effective health products and technologies (HPTs) across the country.

In carrying out this mandate, the Board plays a central role in medicines regulation, professional oversight, quality assurance, compliance enforcement, research, communication, and administrative support within the national health regulatory framework.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board is seeking to recruit qualified and competent candidates to fill various vacant positions on permanent and pensionable terms of service. All positions are full-time and based in the Board’s regional offices.



1. Regulatory Officers

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 6

The Regulatory Officers will support the Board’s regulatory and compliance mandate.

Key responsibilities include supporting inspection and regulatory enforcement activities; monitoring compliance with medicines and pharmacy regulations; supporting licensing and registration processes; participating in surveillance and monitoring programmes; supporting documentation and reporting; and engaging stakeholders to promote regulatory compliance and public health protection.


2. Senior Accountant

Job Grade: PPB 5
Posts: 1

The Senior Accountant will support financial management and accountability functions.

Duties include supporting budgeting and financial planning; managing accounting records; preparing financial reports; supporting audits and compliance processes; strengthening internal controls; and supporting financial analysis and reporting in line with public sector requirements.


3. Legal Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

The Legal Officer provides legal advisory and compliance support to the Board.

Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents; advising on regulatory compliance matters; supporting contract management; handling legal correspondence; supporting litigation and dispute resolution processes; and maintaining legal records and documentation.


4. Human Resource Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

This role supports human resource management functions within the Board.

Key duties include supporting recruitment and selection processes; managing staff records; supporting performance management systems; coordinating training and development initiatives; supporting employee relations; and ensuring compliance with labour and public service regulations.


5. Quality Management System Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

The Quality Management System Officer supports implementation and maintenance of quality management systems.

Responsibilities include supporting quality assurance processes; monitoring compliance with quality standards; supporting audits and inspections; maintaining quality documentation; supporting continuous improvement initiatives; and promoting quality culture across the organization.


6. Research and Development Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

This role supports research and innovation activities.

Duties include supporting research planning and implementation; collecting and analyzing data; preparing research reports; supporting policy and regulatory research; contributing to innovation initiatives; and supporting dissemination of research outputs.


7. Corporate Communication Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

The Corporate Communication Officer supports internal and external communication functions.

Responsibilities include preparing communication materials; supporting media engagement; managing digital and print content; supporting public awareness initiatives; documenting corporate activities; and ensuring consistency in corporate messaging.


8. Administrative Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

The Administrative Officer supports general administrative and office operations.

Duties include managing office correspondence; coordinating meetings and logistics; supporting records management; managing office supplies; supporting workflow coordination; and providing administrative support to departments.


9. Receptionist

Job Grade: PPB 7
Posts: 1

The Receptionist supports front-office operations.

Responsibilities include receiving and directing visitors; managing incoming calls and correspondence; maintaining reception records; supporting customer service functions; and ensuring a professional front-office environment.


10. Assistant Customer Care Officer

Job Grade: PPB 8
Posts: 1

This role supports customer service and public engagement.

Duties include handling customer inquiries; supporting complaint resolution; managing customer records; providing information to stakeholders; and supporting service delivery improvement initiatives.


11. Assistant Record Officer

Job Grade: PPB 8
Posts: 1

The Assistant Record Officer supports records and information management.

Responsibilities include filing and retrieval of documents; maintaining records registers; supporting digitization initiatives; safeguarding records; and ensuring compliance with records management policies.


12. Assistant Administrative Officer

Job Grade: PPB 8
Posts: 1

This role provides administrative support to departments.

Duties include supporting office administration; managing documentation; assisting in meeting coordination; supporting logistics and supplies management; and providing general administrative assistance.


13. Assistant Office Administrators, Regional Offices

Job Grade: PPB 8
Posts: 5

These roles support administrative operations in regional offices.

Responsibilities include supporting regional office administration; managing correspondence and records; supporting logistics and office coordination; assisting in stakeholder engagement activities; and ensuring efficient service delivery at regional level.


14. Security Officer

Job Grade: PPB 6
Posts: 1

The Security Officer supports safety and security functions.

Duties include implementing security procedures; controlling access to facilities; monitoring security systems; reporting incidents; liaising with relevant authorities; and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets.
