1. Purchasing Agent – Kenya

Location: Ruiru, Kenya
Department: Environmental Services
Sustainability: Purchasing & Supply Chain Management

Introduction:
As a Purchasing Agent at BURN Manufacturing, you will play a key role in our procurement processes, ensuring that we source the best materials and products for the manufacture of our clean cookstoves and other sustainable energy products. This role requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the team, you will contribute directly to the operational efficiency of the company while supporting the larger sustainability and environmental goals we are committed to.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with key suppliers. Ensure that our materials are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Procurement Process: Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, including requisitioning, purchasing, and supplier evaluation. Work closely with various departments to identify material needs and project timelines.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure the proper availability of materials required for production. Work to minimize wastage while maximizing cost savings through effective stock management.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the procurement budget, ensuring that the company’s purchasing activities remain within budget while fulfilling production needs.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement transactions and supplier communications.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the performance of existing suppliers, considering quality, delivery time, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability practices. Provide feedback and work with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays.
  • Sustainability Integration: Support the company’s sustainability initiatives by sourcing materials and suppliers that align with BURN’s environmental goals and corporate social responsibility strategies.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including manufacturing, finance, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination between procurement and production schedules.

Introduction:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Training Lead will be responsible for developing and leading BURN Manufacturing’s training and development initiatives. This role is critical for ensuring that our employees receive the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the company’s mission of providing sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and delivering impactful training programs, as well as a passion for supporting employee growth and development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Training Strategy & Planning: Develop a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the company’s objectives. Ensure that the training programs enhance employee performance and contribute to the overall organizational goals.
  • Needs Assessment & Program Design: Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps across different departments. Collaborate with team leaders to design training programs that address both individual and organizational needs.
  • Training Delivery: Lead the delivery of both in-house and external training programs, workshops, and seminars. Use a variety of learning methods (e.g., e-learning, face-to-face training, and workshops) to ensure maximum employee engagement and retention.
  • Employee Development: Provide ongoing coaching and support to employees to help them achieve their professional goals. Identify potential future leaders within the organization and develop tailored training paths to cultivate their leadership skills.
