Relationship Manager, Barakah Banking (Corporate Banking)
Corporate Banking – Nairobi, Nairobi
Job Purpose:
- The job holder is responsible for ensuring quality business growth from existing and new customers with focus on both the asset and liability book in line with agreed targets.
- Ensuring the retention/maintenance of customers and growing the existing book through the deeper penetration into the existing customer’s business/ personal banking requirement and effective management of the relationship/customer experience.
- The focus to be to facilitate on shariah compliant product, namely Barakah banking book.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle Customer queries and obtain review information from customers.
- Analise submitted Credit Applications and providing recommendation.
- Initiate security perfection in liaison with Legal Department.
- Disbursement of facilities and Collection of processing fees/commissions.
- Monitoring of Covenants and sanction terms.
- Review and signing bank documents i.e., Letters of offer, Bank Guarantees, Non-Disclosure Agreements, CMA discharges.
- Cross-selling bank products.
- Provide timely feedback in relation to customer request or inquiries.
- Liaise with other departments i.e., Credit, Legal, IB, ICT to solve customer issues.
- Adhere to bank strategy and budget requirements as per bank policy.
- New business canvassing and obtaining the necessary approvals.
- Monitor and follow up of account performance.
- Regular clients visit to review the business performance and submit call reports.
- Referral of cross border business to I&M- Group, IMIA, Burbidge Capital, Wealth Management.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or related field.
- Knowledge on Islamic Banking and finance.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication:
- Relevant professional qualification.
- Member of a relevant professional body.
Work Experience Required:
Over Seven (7) years’ relevant experience with over Three (3) years in management in a similar organization.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
