IKM Foundation Education Program
IKM Foundation (KMF) supports students from different parts of the country each year through the IKMF Scholarship.
The objective is to support bright students from low socio-economic backgrounds.
The support includes payment of secondary school tuition fees, providing supplementary support towards uniform, books etc. and mentoring.
Eligibility Criteria
- Scored in the 70th percentile in KCPE based on school and background (between 350-380+ marks)
- Come from a low-income household; is orphaned or vulnerable child; is living with disability
Attended a government public school - Maintained good grades based on school and background
- Leadership and moral fitness letter from the primary school
- Letter from the local Chief High school admission letter
IKMF Scholarship: Application Form
Part A: General Information for all applicants
1. This application relates to the IKMF Education Program Scholarship (“the Program”).
2. The application is limited to citizens of the Republic of Kenya.
3. The Scholarship is for high school (secondary school level) studies at Kenyan secondary school institutions and is restricted to candidates who sat for KCPE in 2023.
4. Any individual who will be between the ages of 12 and 16 years at the time of taking up the Scholarship may apply.
5. An applicant must demonstrate leadership and high moral standards.
6. Parents, guardians, or local administrators can make applications for the scholarship on behalf of learners.
7. An applicant should have a history of high academic performance throughout primary school.
8. An applicant should have a history of well above average academic results depending on the resources available to his or her primary school, as well as its location within the Republic of Kenya.
9. Please ensure that you complete all sections of the form and provide copies of all the following documents where applicable:
- Death certificate/Burial Permit (if parent is deceased)
- Birth certificate/notification of birth
- KCPE Certificate/ Result slip
- Letter from Child Welfare Society/ Children’s Home (if orphaned and in care)
- Medical certificate (evidence of disability)
- Class 7 and 8 Report Cards
- School leaving certificate
- Letter in support of application from chief/local county representative
- Letter in support of application from high school
The original documents may be required upon enrolment to the Program.
10. Participation in the Program is conditional on the applicant progressing to a secondary institution authorised by Kenya’s Ministry of Education.
11. The application form shall be submitted online.
12. The deadline for submission of applications is 25th December 2023. Feedback to all applicants shall be communicated by 19th January 2024.
13. Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
14. The completion and submission of this form is not a guarantee for sponsorship.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Failure to do the following will render an application ineligible for consideration for the Program:
a. Providing an incomplete application form
b. Any or all relevant documents are not provided along with the application form
c. Providing any false statements, omissions or forged documents
IKM Foundation reserves the right to make the final determination of scholarship beneficiaries.
