APHRC Hiring Consultant Quantitative Data Analyst

The APHRC seeks to recruit a consultant Quantitative Data Analyst based in Nairobi to support the Countdown team in the process of translating Stata do-files to R codes and training countries on how to use R software.

Roles and Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Translating complex Stata do-files to R codes to be used by countries to analyse data during the countries annual meeting.Deliverable:R codes.
  • Training participants on how to use the R codes during the CAM meeting.Deliverable:Slides presentation.
  • Support countries with analysis of data during CAM including reviewing their results.Deliverable:Countries supported in data management and data analysis.
  • Review the API codes for all the countries make them efficient.Deliverable:All the API codes reviewed.
  • Support countries in usage of API for data extraction.Deliverable:All the countries supported .
  • Attend all weekly facilitators meeting.

Required Skills and experience

  • MSc Degree in Epidemiology, Statistics or relevant subject
  • Minimum three years of  experience in data management and analysis.
  • Expertise in quantitative methods, including familiarity with statistical analysis software packages (Stata, Python and R) a must
  • Experience working with the DHIS2 data
  • Experience working with government, in particular with the Ministry of Health
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and program management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in teams.

DURATION

The duration of the assignment is a maximum of 30 days, from February 2024 to May 2024. A phased approach will be employed based on the finally agreed-upon schedule of deliverables.
