The APHRC seeks to recruit a consultant Quantitative Data Analyst based in Nairobi to support the Countdown team in the process of translating Stata do-files to R codes and training countries on how to use R software.
Roles and Responsibilities and deliverables
- Translating complex Stata do-files to R codes to be used by countries to analyse data during the countries annual meeting.Deliverable:R codes.
- Training participants on how to use the R codes during the CAM meeting.Deliverable:Slides presentation.
- Support countries with analysis of data during CAM including reviewing their results.Deliverable:Countries supported in data management and data analysis.
- Review the API codes for all the countries make them efficient.Deliverable:All the API codes reviewed.
- Support countries in usage of API for data extraction.Deliverable:All the countries supported .
- Attend all weekly facilitators meeting.
Required Skills and experience
- MSc Degree in Epidemiology, Statistics or relevant subject
- Minimum three years of experience in data management and analysis.
- Expertise in quantitative methods, including familiarity with statistical analysis software packages (Stata, Python and R) a must
- Experience working with the DHIS2 data
- Experience working with government, in particular with the Ministry of Health
- Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and program management skills
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in teams.
DURATION
The duration of the assignment is a maximum of 30 days, from February 2024 to May 2024. A phased approach will be employed based on the finally agreed-upon schedule of deliverables.
