The APHRC seeks to recruit a consultant Quantitative Data Manager based in Nairobi to support the countdown team for data management tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities and deliverables
- Review and finalize the data request template to be shared with countries.
Deliverable: Data request template.
- Receive all the relevant data from countries, review and make sure that right data (format and indicators) has been received from all countries.
Deliverable: relevant data received from all the countries in the countdown collaboration.
- Support countries with analysis of data.
Deliverable: Countries supported in data management and data analysis.
- Attend the country annual meeting and make a summary presentation of data received from countries and support countries in data management and analysis.
Deliverable: attendance and Facilitation at CAM meeting.
- Review all the countries CAM reports and provide timely feedback to country teams.
Deliverable: All the reports reviewed and final reports submitted back to the countries as well as the project manager.
- Contribute to the synthesis report summarising findings from all participating countries
- Attend all the weekly facilitators meetings.
Required Skills and experience
- PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics or relevant subject
- Minimum five years of post-doctoral experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing research projects, including experience in conducting, coordinating and managing surveys.
- Expertise in quantitative methods, including familiarity with statistical analysis software packages (e.g. Stata)
- Experience working with the DHIS2 data
- Experience working with government, in particular with the Ministry of Health
- Experience conducting evaluation research
- Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and program management skills
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in teams.
- Being able to communicate in French and/or Portuguese would be an advantage
DURATION
The duration of the assignment is a maximum of 40 days, from February 2024 to May 2024. A phased approach will be employed based on the finally agreed-upon schedule of deliverables.
