Job Purpose: As a Tailor/Seamstress at Glee Hotel Nairobi, your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the overall guest experience by ensuring that our staff uniform and guest garments are tailored to perfection. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our hotel’s image through your expertise in crafting, altering, and repairing clothing items.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a tailor or seamstress.
- Excellent knowledge of different fabrics and their properties.
- Proficient in using sewing machines and other tailoring tools.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and ensure precise fittings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Creativity and artistic flair for design and alterations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Garment Creation and Alterations:
- Craft and alter staff uniforms, ensuring a perfect fit and adherence to hotel standards.
- Collaborate with the housekeeping department to maintain and repair guest garments as needed.
- Implement creative alterations for special events or themed promotions.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all garments to ensure they meet the hotel’s standards.
- Identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in a timely manner.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of fabrics, accessories, and tailoring supplies.
- Report any shortages or required replenishments to the management team.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the hotel’s design and aesthetics team to align uniform designs with the overall brand image.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet their specific tailoring needs.
- Customer Service:
- Engage with guests to address any tailoring requests or alterations to enhance their experience.
- Provide friendly and helpful service to both guests and staff.
