The Kenya Medical Research Institute in collaboration with partners, carries out research in Malaria, HIV, TB and other diseases. HIV-Research Division in partnership with WHO intend to undertake a study to evaluate the Samba II HIV-1 Semi-Q whole blood Test for WHO Prequalification Assessment. The study has below vacancy.
a) Job Descriptions
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –
Recruitment of study participants
Consent study participants
Perform finger prick procedures and testing using rapid test device
Complete study forms accurately and completely
Data entry onto logbooks, diaries and computer
Organize collected data and perform simple analysis
Communicate field matters to supervisor
Attend study meetings and report on progress of work
Perform any other duties assigned or delegated by the study management.
b) Person Specifications
Be a holder of KCSE mean grade D+ and above or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
Have certificate in HIV Testing Services (HTS);
Must be resident of the study area-Kisumu County;
Be fluent in both written and oral English & Swahili languages;
Proficiency in computer application.

Terms of employment:
This is a Five (5) months Fixed term contract with a probation period for the first 3 months. Salary is as per the stated scale and applicable scheme of service.
