WFP Hiring Risk and Compliance Intern

JOB PURPOSE

The risk unit is looking for an intern to support critical unit functions, here in Nairobi. It is a great opportunity to see how the risks are managed, compliance is enhanced and get exposure to both field missions as well as the office-based workplan in Nairobi.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the supervision of the Risk Officer, the Intern will:

  • Assist in conducting regular Privacy Impact Assessments to review risks associated with WFP’s data collection, management and sharing practices. Analysis across systems (SCOPE, CTM, CFM, COMET. LESS) and modalities/ activities (in-kind, CBT, SFP, social protection, nutrition, etc.)
  • Assist in developing data protection risk mitigation measures, and monitor their implementation with respective units/offices
  • Proactively review data-sharing needs across the operation, and coordination and contribute to the development of respective data sharing agreements for the CO, in consultation with Legal, and partners.
  • Assist in carrying out compliance assessments in the field and perform walk through tests to identify areas of improvements in the process.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:  Recent graduate from a bachelor or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) in Accounting, risk managed, data analysis, International Relations or Law Enforcement or other relevant field.
  • Language:  Fluency in both oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP depending on the duty station of assignment.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
  • The internship duration is 8 months, full-time.
