Director, Undergraduate Programs

Strathmore University Business School (SBS) is seeking an innovative and dedicated professional to join our team as Director, Undergraduate Programs. This is an exciting opportunity for an internal candidate to provide strategic and academic leadership in learning, teaching, and research within the undergraduate school.

Reporting To: Associate Dean, Academics & Student Affairs
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience
- Ensure the school’s examination processes align with university and higher education standards by overseeing internal and external exam moderation, administration, and marking.
- Identify and recruit examiners, and ensure timely feedback on student performance from course evaluators.
- Develop and lead initiatives to enhance the student experience in undergraduate programs.
Faculty Management
- Collaborate with the Dean and the Director for People and Culture to recruit, orient, and evaluate full-time and part-time teaching staff.
- Prepare peer review reports and ensure lecturers’ reports are compiled and submitted to the Dean.
- Promote academic staff development by organizing seminars, identifying training needs, and assisting the Dean in implementing skill-bridging programs for faculty staff.
Quality Assurance
- Partner with the marketing unit to design and implement activities that promote undergraduate programs.
- Participate in the management of development, accreditation, and evaluation processes for undergraduate programs.
- Contribute to the production of reports for the Academic Council, Management Board, College Management Board, accreditation bodies, and other stakeholders, as required.
Program and Curriculum Development
- Oversee course distribution by preparing a comprehensive four-year plan for each cohort.
- Allocate workloads to lecturers to ensure optimal delivery of the undergraduate curriculum.
