Position: Deputy Director, Linkages & Partnerships (One Position)

Overview
The Deputy Director, Linkages & Partnerships will play a key role in enhancing MKU’s collaborations with local and international institutions, public and private sectors, and strategic partners. This role is crucial in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and resource mobilization through grant proposals and fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Linkages, Partnerships & Collaborations, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying and engaging value-adding partners to support MKU’s mission and vision, including partnerships with MKU Foundation and Graduate Enterprise Academy.
- Coordinating the engagement of new partners and overseeing their onboarding.
- Managing and following up on all partnerships to ensure maximum value and alignment with MKU’s strategic objectives.
- Conducting performance appraisals of MKU’s partnerships and providing regular reports.
- Maintaining an updated partnerships database for effective management and strategic decision-making.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Corporate Services, Communication & Alumni Relations or the Director, Linkages, Partnerships & Collaborations.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Option 1:
- A PhD in a relevant field from a recognized university.
- At least three (3) years of experience working on project-driven partnerships with both local and international public and private sectors, including universities.
- Proven expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation promotion, grant proposal writing, and fundraising.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate computer literacy.
OR
Option 2:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Must be enrolled in a PhD program and provide proof of admission.
- At least five (5) years of experience in project-driven partnerships with local and international public and private sectors, including universities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship and innovation promotion, grant proposal writing, and fundraising.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate computer literacy.
