About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Energy, the Senior Relationship Manager – Chinese Corporate Business will serve as the primary contact for a designated portfolio of Chinese clients. This role is essential in driving business growth, managing client relationships, and maximizing revenue within the Chinese business sub-sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Chinese customer segment strategy in line with the bank’s Corporate Banking Strategy to achieve profitability targets through revenue maximization and prudent cost management. This role requires a proactive individual who can offer tailored financial solutions to meet customer needs while ensuring a seamless banking experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Chinese customer segment strategy to ensure the achievement of profitability targets.
- Drive sustainable growth by delivering innovative and customized financial solutions.
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Chinese clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate business development and revenue growth.
- Effectively cross-sell existing and new banking products to current and potential clients, coordinating with relevant business units to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Champion exceptional customer service to foster long-term relationships and customer loyalty.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market structures to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Prepare and submit high-quality credit proposals in compliance with the bank’s Credit Policy.
- Monitor and maintain portfolio quality, ensuring adherence to Non-Performing Loans (NPL) and Portfolio at Risk (PAR) parameters.
- Oversee account monitoring to ensure facilities have accurate interest rates and are within approved limits, taking remedial actions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should have:
- Fluency in Chinese, both written and spoken.
- A University Degree from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree in business administration and professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, or AKIB) will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in the financial services or banking sector, with at least five (5) years in Chinese Relationship Management.
- A deep understanding of the business operating environment, including economic and regulatory factors.
- Excellent knowledge of Credit Policy and Financial Analysis.
- Familiarity with Corporate Banking Products and Solutions, including Trade, Cash Management, Asset Finance, and Investor Services.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A solid track record in networking, sales, marketing, and stakeholder management.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
