We are inviting applications from qualified, passionate, and experienced individuals for the position of Teens Minister. This role is a pivotal part of our church’s outreach to young people, focusing on spiritual growth, discipleship, leadership development, and community impact among teenagers.
The Teens Minister will report to the Head of Department (HOD) for Children & Teens and will be responsible for providing strategic and pastoral oversight for the entire Teens Ministry.
Position: Teens Minister
Job Description
The Teens Minister will be expected to lead, manage, and grow the Teens Ministry, ensuring that it remains vibrant, Christ-centered, and responsive to the spiritual needs of teenagers. The minister will also serve as a mentor, teacher, and counselor to teens, while fostering partnerships that enrich their growth in Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Worship Leadership:
Lead vibrant Anglican worship services tailored to teens, integrating music, prayer, scripture, and sermon delivery. Ensure services are engaging, spiritually nourishing, and consistent with the Anglican liturgical tradition. - Spiritual Discipleship:
Provide structured discipleship programs to encourage personal faith development. This includes organizing and teaching catechism classes, conducting Bible studies, and running mentorship programs. - Pastoral Care & Support:
Offer pastoral counseling and support to teens and their families. This includes one-on-one counseling, prayer sessions, hospital visitations, and emotional support during life transitions and crises. - Event Planning and Coordination:
Plan and execute impactful events such as the ROPES (Rite of Passage Experiences), camps, retreats, outreach programs, and youth rallies. Coordinate weekly teen meetings and ensure consistency in scheduling and content delivery. - Teen Leadership Development:
Identify, train, and mentor teen leaders within the ministry. Encourage active participation and ownership of ministry activities by young people. - Partnership and Networking:
Build and maintain relationships with schools, churches, and youth-serving organizations to enhance the reach and effectiveness of the Teens Ministry. - Preaching and Teaching:
Preach and teach regularly during services, discipleship sessions, and school chaplaincy duties. This includes providing spiritual guidance at All Saints’ Cathedral Primary School. - Ministry Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive ministry plan aligned with the vision and goals of All Saints’ Cathedral. This includes preparing annual budgets, setting performance targets, and reviewing ministry progress regularly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Divinity.
- Ordained Anglican Clergy.
- Born-again Christian with a vibrant personal faith.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in youth or teen ministry, preferably in a structured church setting.
Skills and Attributes
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, especially in working with young people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competence in counseling and pastoral care for adolescents.
- Ability to design and deliver impactful teaching and discipleship content.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- A heart for service, with a deep commitment to shaping the next generation.
- Knowledge of and alignment with Anglican traditions and practices.
- Experience with experiential teaching and learning methods is an added advantage.
