We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join our Mobility team as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
Leading cross-functional projects, you will work closely with senior executives, product teams, commercial leads, and field operations to design and drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of M-KOPA’s electric mobility business.
About Us
At M-KOPA, we believe in the power of innovation to unlock life-changing products and services for underbanked communities. Our Mobility business plays a critical role in this mission by providing accessible electric mobility and fair credit financing to micro-entrepreneurs across Africa.
As the Senior Strategy Manager – Mobility, you will lead high-impact strategic, commercial, and product initiatives, using data analytics, market research, and operational insight to solve complex business problems. From improving our business model and refining field processes to launching new pilots and building external partnerships, this role is pivotal in shaping our next phase of growth.
You will collaborate across multiple departments – product, commercial, credit, finance, and operations – and serve as a key strategic advisor to the Mobility Senior Leadership Team. If you are excited by the opportunity to blend executive-level strategy with on-the-ground execution, and you’re passionate about the future of electric mobility in Africa, then this role is for you.
Expertise
We are looking for someone who brings both strategic thinking and field empathy.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Have 3+ years of experience in strategy or management consulting, ideally within a top-tier international or cross-market firm.
- Have prior experience in asset financing, electric mobility, consumer credit, or direct sales models.
- Are based in or have deep market experience in Kenya or similar African markets where M-KOPA operates.
- Bring advanced analytical, modeling, and data visualization skills, including high proficiency in Excel.
- Have experience with research methodologies (primary research, experiment design, statistical analysis) to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Possess excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across departments and geographies.
- Are comfortable managing multiple complex projects, delivering practical, scalable, and data-driven solutions.
- Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and are equally comfortable engaging with motorbike riders in the field as you are presenting strategic plans in the boardroom.
Bonus points if you:
- Are passionate about electric mobility and unlocking access for underserved populations.
- Have a proven track record of working with financial products tailored to informal markets.
- Want to be part of a close-knit, diverse, and collaborative team helping build the future of sustainable transport in Africa.
