Position: Human Resource Business Partner

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting to: Human Resource & Administration Manager


Role Summary:

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic partner to the business, aligning HR practices with organizational goals. The HRBP will work closely with department heads to deliver value-added services that reflect the company’s values and objectives. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment and is ready to provide leadership in HR strategy, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Line Managers to align HR strategy with business strategy, including workforce planning, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Provide support and guidance in performance management processes to ensure fair and effective evaluations and career development planning.
  • Resolve employee relations issues through effective conflict resolution strategies, maintaining a balanced and positive work environment.
  • Advise management on disciplinary matters and ensure procedures are in line with internal policies and Kenyan labor laws.
  • Work with department heads to identify training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives that support employee growth.
  • Participate in cross-functional HR projects and support enterprise-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing workforce capabilities.
  • Drive change management efforts by facilitating communication, managing transitions, and promoting acceptance across teams.
  • Analyse and report on HR metrics to inform strategy and decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion by promoting equitable practices and a respectful workplace culture.
  • Lead the implementation of employee experience initiatives designed to foster engagement and retention.
  • Administer employee surveys and feedback mechanisms to evaluate HR programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate internal events, including team-building activities, training sessions, and company-wide celebrations.

Academic Qualifications & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a Human Resource-related field.
  • Certified in Human Resource Management by a recognized body (KNEC or CHRP).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or business partner role within a fast-paced organization.

Required Attributes:

  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of HR functions, including labor law compliance, compensation structures, organizational planning, and training methodologies.
  • Management Skills: Proficient in change management and people management with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Human Relations Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proficient in HR data analysis and capable of generating insightful reports to support strategic decisions.
  • Integrity: High ethical standards, professionalism, and a deep commitment to service and respect for all stakeholders.
