Position: Balance Sheet and Capital Management Analyst (Job ID: 2500001V)
Job Purpose
The Balance Sheet and Capital Management Analyst will be part of a specialized team that drives strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing the balance sheet and managing capital effectively. The role is focused on developing and enhancing forecasting methodologies, supporting internal process improvements, formulating capital policies, and contributing to key projects such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate an aptitude for working collaboratively across multiple functions including Liquidity Management, Asset Liability Management, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Controllers, and Finance Change Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and support the Group’s Balance Sheet, Capital Strategy, and Analytics framework.
- Monitor solvency metrics to aid in effective capital management.
- Deliver in-depth analysis and reporting on balance sheet and capital-related matters, including:
- Forecasts of capital and solvency/sufficiency.
- Balance sheet performance monitoring (yields and attribution) and projections.
- Capital returns, shareholder value addition, and return on equity analysis.
- Prepare and present treasury reports, budgets, financial strategies, and other financial documents to senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of Board and ALCO (Asset and Liability Committee) reports.
- Support fundraising and corporate finance activities.
- Participate in the internal valuation of Group entities and investee entities for reporting purposes.
- Integrate capital management and asset-liability management processes into broader finance team operations and reporting.
- Review and strategize around balance sheet risks including liquidity, credit, foreign exchange (FX), and market risks.
- Implement financial policies and procedures across relevant Treasury activities.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain financial forecast models to aid in capital management initiatives.
- Support routine and ad-hoc workstreams, ensuring clear documentation, minute-taking, and progress reporting.
- Stay informed about regulatory capital requirements and upcoming regulatory changes impacting capital management.
- Conduct research and perform ad-hoc analyses to support the firm’s regulatory and strategic capital initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality presentations and reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaborations with Finance, Risk, and Treasury teams.
- Contribute to drafting, reviewing, and updating capital-related policies such as the Capital Management Policy and Capital Distribution Framework.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall Treasury Function.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Certification or progress towards certification in one or more of the following:
- Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Actuarial Certification
- Strong experience in financial modeling, frameworks, statistics, and algorithm design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience, particularly in Asset Liability Management or Corporate Finance functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong financial, commercial, and business acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements.
- Highly collaborative, comfortable working across functions, and skilled in negotiation and teamwork.
