Job Description
The College Driver is an essential member of our operations team and is responsible for the secure and timely movement of students, staff members, and guests to various destinations in accordance with the college’s transportation needs. The role entails:
- Safe Transportation Services:
- Drive college vehicles including school buses and assigned transport vehicles to designated destinations.
- Transport students and staff to academic trips, sporting events, official functions, and other off-campus engagements as scheduled.
- Ensure passengers’ safety and comfort during each journey.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Condition Checks:
- Conduct routine checks on vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles at all times—both interior and exterior.
- Monitor fuel levels and arrange refueling as needed.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, service dates, and general vehicle usage.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Follow institutional protocols for pick-up, drop-off, and emergency procedures.
- Remain calm and professional in the event of traffic delays or emergency situations.
- Ensure seat belts are worn by all passengers and enforce rules for orderly conduct during transit.
- Schedule Adherence and Flexibility:
- Manage transportation schedules efficiently and communicate clearly about departure and arrival times.
- Be available to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on the college calendar and event schedules.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality in reporting to duty and completing assigned trips.
- Professional Conduct and Support Services:
- Serve as an ambassador of the college while interacting with staff, students, parents, and visitors.
- Maintain confidentiality and courtesy at all times.
- Provide assistance to passengers with mobility needs.
- Collaborate closely with administrative and security teams to ensure smooth transport coordination.
