Job Description
The role entails detailed loan portfolio monitoring by leveraging data analytics to drive book quality through continuous reviews, product, and system assurance as per the bank’s products fact sheet, credit policy and best practice and preparation of Bank Credit reports.
KEY MEASURABLE GOALS.
- Proactive Portfolio monitoring and risk management to assess loan quality, sector limits, large exposures, correct loan classification and identify early warning signs to inform decisions.
- Enforce Quality assurance for Credit SLA tracking to independently measure process lapses within Credit.
- Track credit initiatives and identify potential gaps and prioritized engagement.
- Undertake detailed credit analytics to enable the bank to make data driven credit decisions.
- To prepare in a timely manner all credit department reports which include Old Mutual Group reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Pro-active Portfolio monitoring and risk management to assess credit quality, identity early delinquency signs, large exposure limits and risk concentrations in line with bank’s growth and risk appetite.
- Track Overdrawn accounts with Branches ensuring corrective actions and timely update on the recovery actions.
- Regular loan portfolio data sanity checks and follows up with ICT to ensure complete integrity of loan file.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc credit risk reports, including key credit risk metrics, trends, and portfolio analysis and provide insights and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Tracking of portfolio movements and spillages to inform consequence management and clear stop lending thresholds for each branch/officer.
- Covenant Tracking (Liquidity Management)
- To monitor portfolio sector Limits and advise management on trends in line with bank strategy.
- To undertake product set up reviews in the core banking system as per the approved fact sheet and assurance of other core system functionalities.
- To undertake scenario & Sensitivity Analysis to assess impact of undesirable macro-economic and other industry effects on credit portfolio and advise management.
- Participate and Follow-up of all internal and external credit audit exercises, track and monitor audit recommendations to ensure closure.
- Undertake monthly compliance self-assessments on all credit sections and ensure corrective actions on identified gaps.
- Conduct monthly IFRS 9 runs, model reviews, highlight impact NPL focus areas and track movement of provisions and suspended interest
- Implementing and enforcing the board approved AML, KYC (Know Your Customer) & CFT (Counter Financial Terrorism) policy in as far as is applicable within area of responsibility.

Education
Degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics or related field.
