Introduction
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global authority on the environment. UNEP is seeking two dynamic and motivated Interns – Programme Support to join its Nairobi office. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in programme management, environmental policy, and sustainable development initiatives within an international organization.
Job Description
The Programme Support Interns will work under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer and support various activities aimed at enhancing programme implementation and coordination. The key responsibilities include:
- Project Support: Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of UNEP programmes and projects across different thematic areas.
- Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze project-related data to support performance tracking and reporting.
- Documentation and Reporting: Draft summaries, meeting notes, and internal reports for ongoing programmes and activities.
- Coordination: Support communication between different divisions, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct background research on environmental issues, programme trends, and best practices relevant to UNEP’s work.
- Event and Logistics Support: Assist in organizing workshops, training sessions, and conferences related to environmental programmes and initiatives.
These internships provide valuable exposure to UNEP’s global operations, programme planning, and sustainability-focused initiatives.
