The African Wildlife Foundation Hiring Project Assistant, Peace and Conflict Sensitivity (PCS)

by Recal

The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) recognizes that effective conservation outcomes depend on understanding and addressing the complex social, political, and economic dynamics that shape landscapes. In many areas where AWF works, conservation intersects with fragility, insecurity, and competing resource interests. Integrating Peace and Conflict Sensitivity (PCS) into our operations is therefore critical to ensuring that interventions “do no harm,” contribute to stability, and enhance collaboration between communities, government institutions, and other stakeholders.

To support institutional and landscape-level application of PCS principles, AWF is recruiting a Project Assistant PCS to contribute to the mainstreaming, coordination, and documentation of conflict-sensitive conservation approaches across programs.

The Project Assistant PCS will provide administrative, logistical, and technical support to the PCS Project Lead and program teams. This includes assisting with conflict analysis activities, organizing training sessions, supporting documentation and reporting, and helping coordinate stakeholder engagement processes. The role is designed to strengthen the operational delivery of PCS initiatives and ensure smooth implementation across landscapes.
