Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is inviting applications for the position of Employee Relations and Governance Specialist within the People and Culture team based in Nairobi, Kenya. The role reports to the Country Lead Employee Relations, Governance and People Services.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will support the organization in managing employee relations matters, industrial relations strategy, and compliance with Kenyan labour laws. The role also involves advising management on labour matters, engaging trade unions, and promoting fair and legally compliant workplace practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory support on disciplinary matters, grievances, and performance management.
  • Support resolution of employee disputes and maintain positive workplace relations.
  • Ensure proper implementation of HR policies and disciplinary procedures.
  • Engage with trade unions through negotiations, consultations, and daily interactions.
  • Participate in Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations and implementation.
  • Monitor industrial relations trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support dispute resolution processes including mediation and Labour Office engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee relations records and reports.
  • Train line managers on labour laws, disciplinary procedures, and HR policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in HR Management or Labour Relations is an added advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in Employee Relations or Industrial Relations within a unionised environment.
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan labour laws and industrial relations practices.
  • Experience handling disciplinary matters, grievances, union engagements, and CBA processes.
  • Experience appearing before the Labour Office or Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC) is an added advantage.
