Job Description

Our client is seeking experienced and results-driven Business Development Managers (BDMs) to lead market expansion within the Banking, Microfinance, Digital Credit, Insurance or SACCO sectors.

The ideal candidates must have at least 3 years of proven experience in B2B and B2C relationship management, with a strong track record of onboarding financial institutions and driving revenue growth.

The BDM will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, onboarding institutions (Banks, SACCOs, underwriters, digital lenders) and managing long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify, approach and onboard institutions within the assigned market segment.
  2. Develop and execute strategic business development plans for the segment.
  3. Build and maintain strong B2B relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
  4. Drive B2C channel partnerships (where applicable) to grow end-user adoption.
  5. Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and competitive trends.
  6. Lead contract negotiations and close partnership agreements.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Operations, Marketing) to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery.
  8. Track and report performance metrics, revenue growth, and pipeline development.
  9. Represent the company at industry events, forums, and stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, or Relationship Management within the assigned market segment.
  3. Demonstrated success in B2B and B2C engagement strategies.
  4. Strong network within the relevant financial services sector.
  5. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a vehicle tracking and valuation firm as a sales/BDM majoring on  financial institutions, regulators, or fintech companies.
  2. Deep understanding of financial products and market dynamics within the assigned segment.
  3. Degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Finance (added advantage).
