About the Position

Key Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant in Music Composition will be responsible for:
- Assisting in teaching and mentoring students in music composition, music theory, arrangement, and creative music practice.
- Supporting composition projects by creating, arranging, editing, and reviewing musical works.
- Assisting in conducting research and creative activities in music composition and related disciplines.
- Participating in departmental activities including performances, workshops, concerts, examinations, and academic programs.
- Maintaining and supporting music resources including musical scores, recordings, music software, instruments, and learning materials.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor in Music or a related program.
- Skills in composition, music arrangement, orchestration, music theory, notation software, and digital music production.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in music composition, teaching assistance, research, or creative music practice.
- Membership in, or eligibility for membership in, recognized music bodies such as MCSK, KAMP, or another relevant professional association.
- A comprehensive portfolio of original compositions demonstrating creative work.
