DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – WESTERN REGION
Madison General Insurance Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Madison Group and a leading provider of general insurance products throughout Kenya, is recruiting for the above position.
Overall Responsibility
Coordinate the marketing development activities and administrative/operations of the Western Branches and ensure that set targets both in production and portfolio mix are achieved and streamline control to achieve targeted profitability, while focusing on service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating the marketing strategic plan for the company in liaison with the Unit/Branch Managers and Head of Branches Business Unit.
- Assist in setting the production target and portfolio mix per branch and monitor compliance on weekly basis and report to the Head of Branches Business Unit on any non-compliance and proposed solution.
- Assist the Unit and Branch Managers in identifying and targeting profitable markets in each area and engage the intermediaries by building strong relationships.
- Assist the Unit and Branch Managers in recruiting and maintaining quality and licensed agents and implement the agent’s loyalty program.
- Monitor the branch operations in the following areas among others;
- Upfront premium collection and dealing with any non-compliance and reporting to Head of Branches.
- Ensure all the proposal forms generated from the branch are duly completed with all the required documentation.
- Oversee the customers’ service aspects in the branch.
- Train the Unit and Branch Managers and by extension the branch staff on quality underwriting and product knowledge.
- Supervise the implementation of the SLA between branches and the head office.
- Assist in motivating the branch staff.
- Ensure discipline and office ambience/cleanliness is maintained in all the branches and the Madison brand is visible and uniform in the entire region.
- Assist the Unit and Branch Managers in identifying and visiting the major clients in the region in view of acquiring direct business
- Come up with branch visit schedules covering the region with specific tasks to be accomplished during the visits.
- Coordinate promotion activities undertaken by the company for the purpose of pushing the company general insurance products in the region. E.g. Exhibitions, product training and promotion.
- Assist in establishing market intelligence by collecting customers’ feedback and setting relevant data base for the region and using the information to assist in formulating unique products and partnership to serve the counties in the region.
- Assist in reviewing the existing range of company’s products and coming up with product promotion materials to assist in pushing sales including assisting in organizing any launch of the products.
- Evaluate the franchise concept in each county within the region to enable the company to establish presence in all the counties at minimum cost.

Work Experience:
- Minimum 8 Years’ work experience in underwriting and branch management in an insurance company
Academic /Professional Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field
- Post graduate diploma (AIIK, ACII or CIM)
