Position: Business Development Manager – Trade Finance

Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager – Trade Finance will be responsible for effectively growing and managing the trade finance portfolio across the Bank to achieve sustained business growth and meet revenue targets. This role requires an individual who can provide leadership and drive in expanding our trade finance business while ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As the Business Development Manager – Trade Finance, your main duties will include:
- Achieve Sales Targets: Meet the set sales performance targets in trade finance, international banking services, and other capital financing products.
- Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement effective sales strategies to drive trade finance and international business growth.
- Customized Solutions: Develop tailored international trade finance solutions that maximize profitability in the Bank’s international business.
- Trade Finance Promotion: Enhance both internal and external trade finance profiles to promote business and generate new sales opportunities.
- Customer-Centric Solutions: Provide solutions that meet customer needs while adhering to the regulatory framework and the Bank’s credit policy.
- Product Improvement: Recommend improvements in trade finance and international business products to stay competitive in the market.
- Maximize Utilization of Trade Finance Facilities: Ensure maximum utilization of trade finance facilities provided to clients and originate new trade finance deals or repeat business from these clients.
- Market Intelligence: Research and provide up-to-date market intelligence to different business units to help identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Service Delivery Collaboration: Work closely with various units to improve service delivery and provide an enhanced customer experience.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Professional Banking Qualifications (optional but an advantage): AKIB, ACIB, or Trade Finance certification.
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in banking, with at least 5 years in trade finance and international business.
- Strong understanding of trade finance products including import/export finance and commodity finance.
- Excellent credit risk management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Ability to generate new business and develop strong relationships with clients.
