Role Summary
The Data Analyst/Statistician will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and interpreting project data to generate actionable insights. This role will involve creating predictive models, preparing detailed statistical reports, and providing data-driven recommendations to inform project strategies and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Collect, clean, and preprocess raw data for analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  2. Conduct advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, correlations, and patterns within the data.
  3. Develop predictive models to assess risks and vulnerabilities in the context of climate and health hazards.
  4. Design and maintain dashboards for real-time data monitoring and visualization.
  5. Collaborate with Research Assistants and other team members to ensure the accuracy of collected data.
  6. Create detailed statistical reports, including visual aids such as charts and graphs, to communicate findings.
  7. Validate data sources and methods to ensure reliability and robustness of analysis.
  8. Develop and implement data collection protocols in collaboration with the project team.
  9. Provide training to project staff on data analysis tools and techniques.
  10. Stay updated on emerging statistical methods and software tools, integrating them into the project as needed.
  11. Ensure all data handling complies with ethical guidelines and data protection laws.
  12. Support the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and policy briefs with statistical insights.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
● Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SPSS, Python, or similar tools.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
