Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of laboratory materials, equipment, and chemicals for student practical sessions and research.
- Ensure laboratory safety by implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Provide technical support to students and faculty during practical sessions and research activities.
- Assist in developing and updating laboratory manuals and guidelines for experiments.
- Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations within the laboratory.
- Support the faculty in research projects and other laboratory-related activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of laboratory experiments and findings.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Biology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an institution of higher learning.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in laboratory procedures and equipment handling.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist students and faculty effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining laboratory standards.
