Physiology (Lecturer/ Assistant Professor)

Job Purpose:

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the incumbent will be expected to teach, selected course in Human Physiology including, Physiology of the body systems with special emphasis on Endocrine, Reproductive, Cardiovascular & Renal Physiology

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess selected Physiology courses to undergraduate students in Bachelor of Pharmacy and related health Programs
  • Introduce and mark practical reports for assigned courses that have practical component
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs and the teaching content are up-to-date and marketable;
  • Participate in program assessment and reviews;

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • A Master of Science degree in human/Medical physiology from recognized/accredited university.
  • A bachelor of science degree in Human/Medical Physiology, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing or a related discipline.
  • A Ph.D. in Human/Medical Physiology will be an added advantage.
  • Should have at least three (3) years of University teaching experience.
  • Should have four equivalent publication points;
  • Been registered by the relevant Professional Body.
  • If with a master’s degree, should have intention to pursue a PhD.
