Relationship Manager – Cooperatives, SACCOs & MFI

Key Responsibilities; –

  • Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis: Analyze trends, market dynamics, and competitor strategies within the MFI, Co-operative & SACCOS, sharing insights with the business units to drive informed decision-making and performance.
  • Commercialization Strategy Development: Craft and implement commercialization strategies tailored to the MFI, Co-operative & SACCOS, focusing on assets and liabilities to maximize value in the segments.
  • Unified Sales and Service Approach: Internal Collaborate with various business units Banking, Digital Financial Services, Credit Customer Experience, Marketing and Foundation, Ecosystem and Value chain Banking to drive product uptake and utilization with a unified cohesive sales strategy.
  • Business Planning: Lead business planning for MFI, Co-operative & SACCOS, aligning strategies with branch teams and ensuring that all initiatives support the overall business objectives as per set targets and performance measures
  • Business Development: Identify and explore new business opportunities within the MFI, Co-operative & SACCOS, working closely with branch teams to acquire new clients and build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders. 
  • Tailored Financial Solutions: lead and collaborate with Digital Financial Services, Ecosystem banking and IT teams to develop innovative, technology-driven financial solutions tailored to the needs of different MFI, Co-operative & SACCOS participants, 
  • Champion activations and training for the Cooperatives, Saccos and MFIs to drive portfolio growth through existing Cooperatives, Saccos and MFIs and acquisition of new ones.
  • Manage the Cooperatives, Saccos and MFIs portfolio at risk and monitor account migration and provisions to ensure they are within the set business acceptable levels by putting action plans to curb declining trend in liaison with branch managers and region portfolio managers.
  • Enterprise-Wide Risk Management- Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), Anti Money Laundering (AML), combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to mitigate against losses, frauds and forgeries.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university is required
  • Professional Qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
  • 10 years’ minimum relevant experience is required and must have the below:
    • 8 years’ experience in Sales 
    • 5 years’ experience in Credit Appraisal
    • 7 years’ experience in Portfolio Management
    • 8 years’ experience in General Banking        
    • 4 years’ experience in Product Development
    • 6 years’ experience in Customer care/Relationship Management
    • 4 years’ experience in People Management
    • 4 years’ experience in Performance Management
