The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent State Office established by the Political Parties Act, Cap. 7D (PPA). The mandate of the Office is to register, regulate political parties and administer the Political Parties Fund.
To achieve this mandate, ORPP is seeking to recruit highly competent, dynamic, and results-oriented individuals who will contribute to the implementation of its mission. The Office invites applications from suitably qualified serving officers in the public service for the following vacant position:

Job Purpose
The Office Assistant will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, providing catering services, and carrying out messengerial services within the office. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of office operations by handling essential tasks that support administrative functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake cleaning of offices, lavatories, and compound to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment.
- Record and dispatch letters, files, and documents to support the office’s documentation and communication processes.
- Participate in simple clerical work such as filing and data entry as required.
- Run office errands, including collection and delivery of documents and packages within and outside the office.
- Maintain the office kitchen and utensils by ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
- Prepare and serve tea to staff and visitors as needed.
- Keep safe custody of cleaning equipment and materials to maintain efficiency in their usage and availability.
- Carry out planting, weeding, pruning, and mowing of gardens to maintain the office’s landscaping.
- Collect, assemble, and dispose of waste in accordance with set hygiene and environmental guidelines.
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D Plain or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, which includes integrity and good governance standards.

- Ability to follow instructions and work under minimum supervision.
- A high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of office etiquette and protocol.
