To further enhance the quality and effectiveness of its worship services, All Saints’ Cathedral is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Audio-Visual Technician. This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in live sound production, technical expertise, and a deep commitment to supporting the Christian ministry.

Reports To: Public Relations & Communications Officer

Role Overview

The Audio-Visual Technician will be entrusted with overseeing and operating sound and multimedia systems during all worship services and special events held at All Saints’ Cathedral. This role ensures that the sound quality meets the highest standards for clarity, consistency, and professionalism—whether experienced live in the sanctuary or through digital live streams.

The ideal candidate will be a technically skilled individual with a passion for audio engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a heart for ministry. Working closely with worship leaders, musicians, media personnel, and volunteers, the technician will ensure a seamless, distraction-free worship experience that aligns with the Cathedral’s mission and excellence in service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Audio Equipment Management
    • Set up, test, and operate all audio equipment including microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and speakers for regular services, events, and special occasions.
    • Ensure high-quality sound for speech, music, and multimedia presentations.
  • Live Mixing & Sound Monitoring
    • Mix audio during live services to ensure clarity and optimal sound balance for musicians, vocalists, and speakers.
    • Monitor and adjust sound levels in real-time, swiftly resolving any issues during live performances.
  • Live Streaming & Digital Broadcast
    • Collaborate with the Media Team to deliver seamless live broadcasts across platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Zoom.
    • Utilize advanced digital techniques to ensure stable, high-definition audio and video output.
  • Technical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
    • Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues with audio-visual systems.
    • Proactively identify potential faults and ensure uninterrupted service by resolving problems before they arise.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management
    • Maintain and organize the Cathedral’s audio-visual inventory.
    • Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition and securely stored.
  • Team Collaboration & Support
    • Work in coordination with the Worship Team, musicians, and technical staff to deliver a unified worship experience.
    • Provide technical support for special programs, guest speakers, and liturgical events.
  • Training & Volunteer Coordination
    • Supervise, train, and guide interns and volunteer sound technicians.
    • Offer mentorship to enhance team competency and maintain high production standards.
  • Content Recording & Archiving
    • Record and archive high-quality audio from worship services and events for future distribution or internal use.
    • Ensure proper cataloguing and storage of digital files.
  • Innovation & Technology Advancement
    • Stay updated on emerging audio technologies and practices.
    • Recommend and implement technical enhancements that align with the Cathedral’s long-term goals and mission.

Educational Background & Experience

  • Minimum of Diploma in Audio Engineering, Sound Production, or a closely related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in live sound production, preferably in a worship, church, or large-event setting.
  • Strong proficiency in both digital and analog sound consoles, microphones, amplifiers, and related AV peripherals.
  • Solid technical knowledge in sound system setup, live mixing, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic skills in video recording and editing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
