The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced new employment opportunities for qualified and experienced professionals seeking to contribute to Kenya’s healthcare financing and social health insurance system.

Established under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, the Social Health Authority is a State Corporation mandated to provide financial risk protection for Kenyan residents by facilitating equitable access to quality healthcare services. The Authority is responsible for administering the Social Health Insurance Fund, Primary Healthcare Fund, and Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness Fund in collaboration with various stakeholders.

As part of its efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery, SHA is seeking to recruit visionary, result-driven, and experienced professionals to fill vacancies within its administration function.

Available Positions

Administration Officer I – 47 Positions

SHA Grade 7

The Social Health Authority is seeking to recruit Administration Officers who will support the efficient management of administrative operations across various departments and locations.

The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring effective coordination of office operations, records management, resource utilization, communication, and implementation of administrative procedures that support the Authority’s mandate.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating day-to-day administrative activities within assigned offices.

• Supporting implementation of administrative policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Managing office records, correspondence, and documentation.

• Assisting in the planning and coordination of meetings, workshops, and official engagements.

• Facilitating efficient utilization of office resources and equipment.

• Supporting procurement and inventory management processes relating to office operations.

• Ensuring proper maintenance of office facilities and work environments.

• Assisting in the preparation of administrative reports and documentation.

• Coordinating travel arrangements and logistical support where required.

The Social Health Authority is also recruiting Senior Assistant Office Administrators who will provide advanced administrative and secretarial support to senior management offices and departmental units.

The officers will be expected to ensure smooth office operations through effective coordination of schedules, documentation, communication, records management, and administrative support functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing high-level administrative and office support services.

• Managing executive calendars, appointments, and schedules.

• Preparing and organizing official correspondence and documentation.

• Coordinating meetings and maintaining records of proceedings.

• Managing confidential files and institutional records.

• Facilitating communication between offices, departments, and stakeholders.

• Receiving, recording, and routing official correspondence.

• Supporting preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials.

• Coordinating office logistics and administrative arrangements.

• Maintaining effective filing and records management systems.

• Assisting in document tracking and retrieval processes.

• Supporting compliance with administrative policies and procedures.

• Ensuring smooth workflow and efficient office management practices.

Applicants must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya by submitting valid and current copies of the following:

• Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

• Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

• Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

• Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

• Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Report.

Important Notice

The Social Health Authority has cancelled the previously advertised position of Office Administrator II, which had initially been announced under an earlier vacancy notice dated 18th November 2025.
