Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Mercy Corps vehicles under assignment.
- Maintain and submit vehicle log-sheets and fuel/maintenance reports.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any issues.
- Ensure vehicles are ready, clean, and stocked with safety equipment.
- Support logistics and office operations as needed.
- Participate in field missions, sometimes in remote/insecure areas.
- Abide by Mercy Corps’ safety, code of conduct, and communication protocols.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license; Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years driving with an NGO.
- Familiarity with 4×4 vehicles (manual and automatic).
- Road and safety knowledge of Turkana County is essential.
- Proven safe driving in insecure and urban settings.
- Language Skills:
- Good English comprehension.
- Fluency in Swahili required.
- Additional local languages are an asset.

- Drivers must respect participants and fellow staff.
- Encouraged to report misconduct via the Integrity Hotline.
- Completion of annual Code of Conduct training is mandatory.
