Head of IT – Kenya

The Head of IT will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Information Technology department in Kenya. This role involves overseeing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring data security, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and aligning technology solutions with business goals.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with management skills to ensure the delivery of reliable and efficient IT services across all business functions. The position requires an innovative thinker who can anticipate technological trends and translate them into actionable strategies that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic IT Leadership and Planning
    • Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy to support overall business objectives and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure that technology investments align with long-term organizational goals and deliver measurable value.
    • Lead initiatives to modernize IT systems, streamline processes, and adopt new digital technologies that enhance productivity.
    • Collaborate with regional and global IT teams to ensure consistency in technology standards and alignment with corporate policies.
  2. Infrastructure Management
    • Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems.
    • Ensure high system availability, performance, and security across all platforms and operations.
    • Evaluate and implement infrastructure improvements, including upgrades and automation tools, to support business scalability.
    • Manage data centers, cloud services, and backup systems to guarantee business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.
  3. Cybersecurity and Risk Management
    • Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity policies and frameworks to protect company data and systems from internal and external threats.
    • Conduct periodic risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate vulnerabilities in IT operations.
    • Oversee compliance with global data protection regulations and corporate governance standards.
    • Lead incident response efforts to ensure timely resolution of security breaches or system failures.
  4. System Integration and Application Management
    • Manage the development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise systems, software applications, and databases.
    • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
    • Oversee the design and implementation of IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
    • Ensure regular system upgrades and software patching to maintain functionality and security.
  5. Team Leadership and Development

    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary reports, evidence, and corrective action plans.
  7. Support for Business Operations
    • Provide technical support and guidance to business units to enhance productivity and efficiency.
